DOUBLE pay

Some payment is by salary, other is for charges for fee for services, while  
others is from grant sources, departmental distributions, etc.   It id  DOUBLE 
pay if someone is paid an FTE salary which is expected to imply coverage  for 
emergencies on the assigned patients, and then gets extra pay for being on  
trauma/emergency/night call, but then takes OFF the day after a night on  call. 
  Such double pay is probably unethical, if not illegal, in  todays world.  
 
I agree the professionals should be compensated commensurate with their  
contributions.   I also do not think professionals should be religated  to teh 
position of tradesmen.    Is the guild  gone?    Have we ran the guild off by the 
way we have desired to  be paid?
