Whether the clot was popped or not ( and that might be exactly what happened), there was blood in the abdomen, there was a positive DPL, and the patient was hypotensive. If it were my call, I would go directly to the OR, then to angio...... >>> KChason at aol.com 3/8/2005 6:33:24 PM >>> Sheet was placed around pelvis after within first few minutes on arrival, after initially exposed and examined we saw blood from the urethra. Definitely could have "popped" the clot but we still manage trauma with aggressive fluid resuscitation as a rule FFP was ordered but I don't think it was given Hypotension was 80's systolic. ED interested in patient going for definitive care after positive DPL but not sure if angio or OR should be first Trauma surgery wanted aggressive IV fluids, blood, Ex fix and "stabilization" in the ED before angio and placing a-line for bp monitoring. They also wanted to go to angio before the OR with positive DPL. I am not trying to be divisive, just demonstrating the different thought processes that were being discussed. -- trauma-list : TRAUMA.ORG To change your settings or unsubscribe visit: http://www.trauma.org/traumalist.html
