There was a recent thread on this list regarding resuscitation efforts in the setting of traumatic arrest. Many of those participating in that thread had echoed my underlying bias, that external chest compressions in traumatic arrest are worthless. I am in the process of reviewing the literature on this particular subject, hoping to develop a rational Trauma Service Protocol for the conduct of the resuscitation for the patient arriving in arrest with CPR in progress at our Level II trauma center.
There was a post identifying a web address for such a protocol, I believe it was from USC, possibly Shock-Trauma in Maryland, but I can't seem to find this. If any of you who participate on this list have such a protocol and are willing to share it, I would be most grateful. If I don't have to re-invent the wheel, I'd just assume not.
