Thanks. Reference is: Chappell VL, Mileski WJ, Wolf SE, Gore DC, Impact of discontinuing a hospital-based air ambulance service on trauma patient outcomes, J Trauma, 2002, 52:486-491. Ian Ian Seppelt FANZCA FJFICM Staff Specialist in Intensive Care Medicine The Nepean Hospital, PO Box 63, Penrith NSW 2751 Clinical Lecturer, University of Sydney >>> Madelyn_Jurek at mhhs.org 01/14/05 02:02am >>> The last name is "Mileski" and you could try William instead of Bill. Bill Miliski does not appear in Medline under this spelling, nor could I find the paper under a combined search using 'helicopter' and 'J Trauma'. If the paper is very recent it may not be listed yet on Ovid Medline which is usually about a month behind. Thanks, Ian Ian Seppelt FANZCA FJFICM Staff Specialist in Intensive Care Medicine The Nepean Hospital, PO Box 63, Penrith NSW 2751 Clinical Lecturer, University of Sydney >>> KMATTOX at aol.com 01/13/05 02:30pm >>> Finally, the extremely provocative report in J. Trauma by Dr. Bill Miliski of Galveston comparing a period of time during and after availability of helicopter air ambulance, demonstrates no change in outcome after the helicopter service was terminated raises HUGE questions of helicopter benefit to all thinking people. ###################################################################### Attention: This message is intended for the addresses named and may contain confidential information.
