Speaks volumes for your providers clinical governance program!

Roger,

I am a prehospital provider and I was taught to use the OPA first then move
on to an advanced adjunct like the LMA. Where I live the LMA is mainly used
a secondary airway tool in case you cant get your patient intubated. When I
did my OR time for my medic, they used LMA's more often, and it makes sense
to have them on the ambulances because they are easy to use and pretty much
idiot proof. Personally, I prefer to use the OPA because it just a simple
adjunct and then move on to ETT. in my limited experience with the LMA I
dont mind it, but I have more experience with a Combi-Tube...hope this
helped!
