Gun Control Issue--Was RE: A bit like the right to pre-emptive strike

Yes, it's true, but that debate was in 1999.  Times have changed and
there are new members on this list, new ideas to explore, new people
to offend!.

Here's my opinion: go ahead and pass the law, Florida, but make it
absolutely mandatory that the handguns NOT be concealed.  If one
leaves one's home with a handgun, it should be a felony to carry it in
a concealed fashion on one's person; rather, it should be displayed in
a shoulder holster outside the outermost layer of clothing, for all to
see and admire and fear.  Like Don Johnson of the Miami Vice; or like
Steve McGarret of the Five-O, or even Eddie Murphy of the Beverly
Hills; I could go on....

It is in this way that carrying a firearm in public will attain its
maximum deterrent potential and minimize the shedding of blood.
