Yes, it's true, but that debate was in 1999. Times have changed and there are new members on this list, new ideas to explore, new people to offend!. Here's my opinion: go ahead and pass the law, Florida, but make it absolutely mandatory that the handguns NOT be concealed. If one leaves one's home with a handgun, it should be a felony to carry it in a concealed fashion on one's person; rather, it should be displayed in a shoulder holster outside the outermost layer of clothing, for all to see and admire and fear. Like Don Johnson of the Miami Vice; or like Steve McGarret of the Five-O, or even Eddie Murphy of the Beverly Hills; I could go on.... It is in this way that carrying a firearm in public will attain its maximum deterrent potential and minimize the shedding of blood. C. Ursic MD Sydney On 4/28/05, P.
