We have recently observed the practice of pre-spiking IV bags (spiking the bag, priming the IV set & tubing) so that the IV set is ready for a trauma patient. Is this safe practice? If so, how long is the IV setup good for? Is this common practice in trauma centers? ------------------------------------------------------------ NOTE: This email and any files transmitted with it are intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed and may contain confidential, patient health or other legally privileged information.
