Our Pastoral Care Department is involved in locating and contacting the
family.  they follow up on a daily basis and work with Medical Management
(Social work and Case Coordinaotrs) for each unit.
If we cannot get them identified within about 24 hours we also have our
hospital police department fingerprint them.

I am reviewing the current practices of Family Notifications for the Trauma
Center.

I am particularly interested in how others handel unidentified individuals
or when no family information is known.

Particularly who is designated to do the daily follow up until the case is
closed.

If anyone has policy, practices or experiences they are willing to share I
would appreciated it greatly.
