You might want to talk to Dr. George Perdrizet here at Hartford
Hospital.  He has (I would imagine) all of the appropriate references. 
In fact, I will secure a list from him and forward these references to
the list.

During my training we had a 8 bed ward for alcoholic patients, and we
used

to give them 3-5 cc of tequila twice a day and it worked just fine. I
still
do it, but I lack of any literature to back me up.
