Claudia, Well said, thank you. Perhaps we could incorporate your thoughts and words into our daily lives, and not save the good will for just the Holiday Season. Wouldn't life be better? Wouldn't we all be better for it? I wish that for you all. And to the list - all of you - in the coming days and years, may the most that you wish for be the least that you receive. In peace, Ron >>> cvteles at globo.com 12/22/04 07:51AM >>> Dear all, It?s Christmas time. As the years passed, Christmas has became recalled by the rush to shopping malls, holiday celebrations of the working colleagues in the restaurants and pubs, generous amounts of food and booze, marketing promotions and offers on our PC screen, on the phone, radio and TV, Santa Claus everywhere, and amazing street decorations... Let?s try to rescue the true meaning of Christmas under all this. There was Someone once that stated the need of forgiving, for Whom the true Christmas spirit is all about. Forgiving ourselves, forgiving our friends& family, forgiving our patients, forgiving our greed, envy and luxury, forgiving the midia, the politicians, forgiving our enemies, and also forgiving the strange human nature that makes us provoke and inflict pain to each other, as if we were not brothers in this existence.Let ' s forgive offenses, forgive preconceived notions about others, forgive our differences, and also our similarities, forgiving different faiths, beliefs and fashions. There's no true healing without forgiving, and as we are health care givers we are the most powerful agents of peace in this world. There ' s no peace without forgiving, either, for peace comes from a healing process. I wish to us all caregivers the starting of a broad mechanism of forgiving inside our souls this Christmas, and spread this positive wave towards everything surrounding ourselves to the corners of Earth and beyond, to all kinds of living creatures, not only in the memory of the Man who once stated this was absolutely necessary, but for the sake of a better future to us all. Merry Christmas for all, claudia Claudia Teles, MD Cardiovascular Surgical ICU Scientific Coordinator I.E.
