Is some part of this thinking incorrect? Or simply unproven by evidence

It is un necessary and redundant to use the initial gastrografin. Not only
is it only helpful if POSITIVE, it is dangerous if aspirated. If there is
an esophageal injury and the barium extravasates into the mediastinum, one is
going to operate and remove it. There are exactly NO articles indicating ANY
harm for barium to be used in cases of esophageal trauma. NONE. So,
one must question if the radiologist are doing the two tests to double dip un
necessarilly. It would not be the first time.
