Tony-

In the small service in which I run, considering the one-time cost of =
obtaining training and implementation of a few "new" processes, the per =
patient cost of implementing HIPPA has been so miniscule, as to be =
nearly impossible to calculate.

No reductions in Patient Care, No increases in costs, No HIPPA Death =
Squads getting between me and  my patients.

HIPPA was blown into a cyclone by the uninformed "experts" who make hay =
out of controversy and fear of government.  It has been a minor speed =
bump in the great highway of my life, to be sure.

Now, I have as little love for "pencil-headed bureaucrats" and their =
meddling as the next guy, but in this case the real impact of HIPPA in =
my practice has been on the scale of the proverbial flatulent eruption =
in a windstorm.

more institutionalized components of health care system - fewer pencil =
headed bureaucrats getting in the way of patient care -  the major =
impact of the Hippa stuff is going to be reduction in the quality of =
patient care while increasing it's cost - Tony
