That is a parameter set by the *sending* machine (though mail servers might be able to reset it as well). My guess: message that ERF replied to had a variant (probably international/localized) text-encoding. That encoding was picked up by ERF's email client and preserved when he replied. Those of us with macs or certain other mail clients on other OS's were able to read the message plain as day. This info is available in mail headers; instructions for accessing them vary by mail client. hoping that the next message i post will be trauma related <sigh> mk << Warning: Do not look into laser with remaining eye. >>
