Lorna,

You sound like a lovely, self-actualized person, and I mean no disrespect;
but I don't think I've ever read messages on the list that seem farther from
their proper milieu than yours.  Of course, "trauma" has significantly
different meaning in a psychological context.  Are you sure you've
subscribed to the right list-server?

If so, let me assert that there's precious little you can do to change the
habits and temperament of an adult human being.  So much the less for an
adult male.  And when it comes to adult male surgeons, well...

Above all--at least in my opinion--the last thing this list needs is a
sensitive, new-age Rick Frykberg.  Sure, you attract more flies with honey
than vinegar--but I hope we can agree that the justification for attracting
flies has never been clearly articulated.

Anybody out there want to talk about major injury?

Doctor Rick Fry in the recent post can you do something, it means making a
choice, I can't reach through the internet to twist your arm.

Get a book and on the front cover write this title. "The most important
quality in anyone becomes the quantity for everyone." Next make sure the
book is full of lots of paper as if you make this choice you will need it. 
Write down in it every single opinion you have and why. There is a reason
for this and right now you may not see why.

I once spoke of a journal for the people and it was meant entirely different
then perceived for a reason. Each time you write your opinions in your mind
picture yourself keeping the flame burning and it getting bigger and
spreading. One day what you express will become very important so please
don't ever stop your opinions. 

To Joe not one single person on the face of this earth will be a 100%
complete specialist as everyone is forever learning. The word proud I'm
sorry you lose it. Rick has a point. While Rick has the opinions you in turn
teach and look at what is deep inside you to give because there are many out
there waiting to receive. Keep the flame burning guys and don't let it go
out.
