Pret,

Probably nothing poses a greater threat than US Cowboy Foreign Policy
(please no flames from the right), but we are seeing the same with regard to
snowmobile crashes here in northern Michigan.

This appears to be a "sport" wherein the mixture of etoh and velocity are
required to demonstrate the size of ones cahones (which seems to be
inversely proportional to brain function)!

  Two birds, one missive:

Interested in the List's thoughts on operative reduction and fixation of
select rib cage injuries. Not much literature out there (one of the studies
suggests using Judet Plates--available only from Russia, far as I can tell,
and I can't read MedTex's Cyrillic web site), but what we've read suggests a
role in reducing morbidity, vent/ICU times, length of stay, etc. The notion
is punctuated by a young man in our ICU with a deeply dented chest wall from
a snowmobile accident.

Speaking of which--is it just Maine, or are snowmobiles posing a greater
threat to civilization than US foreign policy?
