Trocar tale & Iatrogenic patient abuse

As we have discussed more times that I can remember, both trocars, chest 
tubes, and needle decompression in the field should be TOTALLY removed from 
ANY prehospital treatment schema, unless part of a well designed prospective 
randomized supervised research protocol  designed to finally answer this 
question.   Right not it appears that tubes, trocars, and needles put into 
the pleural cavity prior to arriving at the hospital are cruel form or ego 
driven iatrogenic patient abuse
