Ian,
Any employee of the Scottish Ambulance Service seen in the licensed premises 
you mentioned in uniform, other than in a professional capacity, would be 
subject to disciplinary proceedings and probably sacked. This is not on 
grounds of infection control but on grounds of professional standards. It is 
completely inappropriate to be in uniform in the premises to which you refer. 
It brings the profession and the organisation into disrepute.
