30 male, motorcycle driver that hit a truck broadside.  Closed head =
injury, facial trauma, total "crunch" to right side of body.

Into ED awake with repetitive questions.  Good vitals.

Head CT OK except for multiple facial bone fractures.

Fractured hip, femur (comminuted) and tib-fib on right.

Chest CT shows "true/false lumens" in ascending aorta.

Transferred to sister hospital across town where open heart team works.

No angiogram done before OR.

Into OR, median sternotomy..............

NORMAL AORTA!!!!!

Fractures fixed, off to ICU.
