Dear Fiona, The Israeli army is the same as any other army at war, horribly = nasty. These actions of state terror against civilians has for the first time = been well reported and more importantly, believed in the west. The loss of support for Israel is palpable, a disastrous error by Sharon. (vide shooting at CNN reporters, sniper killing Palestinian trying to = extinguish fire from grenade in the Church of the Nativity complex, etc and etc.) = The influence Bush gets for US$3 billion / yr. to Israel is zero.
