I have been trying to review different trauma models for Level 2 hospitals, without the benefit of having a medical school within a 200 mile radius. Does anyone have any ideas on different ways to run trauma services for the Level 2 ? I would be very interested. I.e, have PA's receive the patient, then have the surgeon come in, have residents from a nearby medical school help with the patients, hire one or two private surgeons be the trauma surgeons w/ back up from local surgeons for vacations, illnesses etc. Please let me know your ideas asap. Thank you.
