I am wondering if it would be possible to send a research survey?

Dear Jane:
I would be happy to help you with your survey. The only glitch is that on
March 01, 2002; our surgeons said they would no longer participate in the
trauma system. (They wanted more $ for being on call and both Providence and
RVMC said no.)We officially filed a letter to OHD requesting we become LEVEL
3's until this is resolved. RVMC has every intention of returning back to a
LEVEL 2 ASAP. I am not sure about Providence. We have joint medical staff
and they usually do whatever we do. We are at the moment reviewing and
learning about different Trauma Models, we may try redoing our whole trauma
service in a totally new way. (which would be good.) Drafting surgeons and
making them take trauma call against their will doesn't work, that much we
know. How does Emanuel do it? Of course, you probably have inhouse
residents, don't you? If you are aware of different models, please share
them with me! I am the Trauma Coordinator for RVMC . We do not have an "OR
RN TC". Will I still be able to help with your survey? You might as well
send it, and if it is only for OR stuff, I will take it to their Nurse
Manager and have her do it.
Have a great day.

I am a trauma OR nurse at Emanuel Hospital in Portland, Oregon. I also am
the AORN representative on the board of editors for the International
Journal of Trauma Nursing--a CEN Journal. I have attached a survey I have
been trying to get to Level 1 or Level 2 trauma centers--hopefully to the
operating room nurse trauma coordinators--any help would be appreciated.
Jane Wick RN.
