Karim,

Could you do a module on blood pressure? I've always found the whole
'systolic-diastolic' thing perplexing.

Much Obliged.

So, because your 'experienced critical care and emergency nurses' are
seemingly untrainable, you dumb down the process by using a meaningless,
unverified scale which does not help direct treatment.

Your definition of coma on AVPU?
Your criteria to intubate?
Your sensitivity for detecting deteriorating in time to intervene
accordingly?

I always find the 'V' part difficult to remember as I have always found V
words difficult. I propose a new 'AZ' scale where A=Alert & Z=Zonked. This
is easy enough for our hospital cleaners to remember and therefore should be
used in preference to AVPU.

next week on "Neurosurgery for Special Needs"...
