We are conducting a survey for an EU consortium research project that =
is
developing surgical bioadhesives derived from algae. To better focus =
our
research we need comments from professionals that have experience with =
any
of the commonly available surgical glues (Dermabond=99, GlueStitch=99,
Indermil=99, HistoAcryl=99, Liquiband=99) for topical wound/incision =
closure.
We would appreciate it if you would take a few minutes to answer the
following questions.=20
-	In what procedures do you use glues?=20
-	What factors determine your choice between glues and sutures?
-	Are there any procedures in which you would like to use glues but
don=92t? What are they and why?
-	Do you find that the cosmetic results (scaring) are better than
traditional suturing?
-	Our research has shown that patients usually prefer gluing to
suturing, but what do physicians prefer and why?
-	What are the drawbacks or weaknesses of existing glues
(cyanoacrylates)? Can you suggest improvements you=92d like to see in =
existing
products?
