There is no pressing need to operate on this, especially if your aim is just to go in and "try to find the source"--it won't work!  Several nonop measures can be tried--even if none work, simply letting it go as is should be no problem--the patient is not being affected by this.
ERCP with internal ampullary stenting should help close this by preferentially shunting thebile out the ampulla, as well as excluding a possible site ofdistal obstruction to explain this unusual occurrrence.  Somatostatin mighthelp reduce fistula output.  Hepatic CT-angio may allow a radiologic intervention to obliterate the bile leak--all depends on what resources you have in your hospital
