>Does anyone insert cannulated screws for elderly hip fractures?

I have done this before in selected cases: horizontal fracture line, no =

dislocation, no other need for hip prosthesis. Always the question has=20
been whether to treat conservatively or to do hemialloarthroplasty.=20
Although I have no great numbers to present, it seems work fine: early=20
(day one) mobilisation, no secondary dislocation observed. But - as said=
=20
above - just limited numbers.

Would be interested to know whether fixation has been necessary at=20
all....

just my two cents

Mathias
