They get away with this garbage precisely because there is no easy enforcement, and they know with a certainty how ignorant physicians are about administrative accounting--you need to get savvy, and stand up to your administrators who throw all this hogwash and smoke and mirrors at you. In a teaching hospital, your local GME committee should be on top of thiese issues, being sure that the hospital complies with RRC requirements and pushing for thse concessions dealing with hospital support of resident well-being and education. What will force the hospital to comply is the threat of having their $100,000 per resident rescinded from their coffers--then watch your COO start jumping thru the hoops! ERF
