TRAUMA PROGRAM MEDICAL DIRECTOR
Cejka Search has been retained by Scott & White to assist in the search for a Trauma Program Medical Director for their Level I trauma center and to serve at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor.
Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas has over 1,500 trauma admissions yearly and 200 SICU admissions. The Director’s role involves oversight of the Trauma program including management of the Emergency Trauma Surgery Services and Surgical Critical Care Services. Scott & White is the largest multi-specialty practice in Texas, with more than 530 physicians and research scientists who care for patients at Scott & White Memorial Hospital and Clinic in Temple and within the 15 regional clinic system networked throughout Central Texas. Scott & White Health System serves as the clinical educational site for the Texas A&M University System Health Science Center College of Medicine. The Division of Trauma, Emergency Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care will play an instrumental role in the vision of the institution to grow both its clinical services and academics. Over $250M in expansions are currently underway, including two new hospitals and three regional clinics. The new Center for Advanced Medicine will house a new Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit and a state-of-the-art Emergency Department with six trauma resuscitation bays. This center is scheduled to open in early January 2007.

Assistant/Associate Professor
The Division of Trauma, Burns, & Critical Care (Department of Surgery) at the University of California, San Diego, is seeking a general surgeon with special interests and expertise in Trauma/Burn, Surgical Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery. This is a full-time faculty position at the assistant or associate level. Rank of appointment and series to be determined, based upon
experience and qualifications.
Candidates should be eligible to practice medicine in California, be board certified or eligible by the American Board of Surgery in Surgical Critical Care, and possess documented teaching/research experience in an area relevant to Trauma/Burn, Critical Care/Acute Care Surgery. UCSD is seeking applications from individuals
interested in a one year Burn Surgery Fellowship commencing
July 1, 2007. The burn fellowship encompasses the management
of acute and reconstructive burn surgery as well as in depth
critical care experience. UCSD is the regional burn center
for San Diego County with over 300 admissions and 200 operative
burn procedures a year. Clinical and basic science research
is available for fellow participation. Burn prevention,
quality improvement, outcome analysis and burn center management
are stressed.
Qualifications include: 1) Completion
of approved general surgery residency, 2) California license
(or eligibility), 3) American Board of Surgery eligibility
or certification, 4) Established ability as a teacher of
medical students and residents.
