Internet Software

Below is a list of internet software, all freely available that we use and recommend for your web browsing. There are obviously other alternatives available, but we have found these robust and adequate to our needs.

Internet Explorer To get the best out of this and other web sites you should try to keep your browser as up-to-date as possible. The latest version of Internet Explorer from Microsoft and Netscape Communicator are generally in line with the current web standards.
Netscape Communicator Netscape Communicator doesn't mess with your desktop. It's email client, Messenger Mailbox is powerful enough to handle most email requirements.
ICQ 2000 ICQ (I Seek You) is an instant messenger facility, that notifies you when friends and colleagues are online and allows you to send instant messages, chat or send files between each other. An excellent community builder.
Netmeeting Microsoft's Netmeeting is the best internet conferencing tool available at present. It allows audio and video conferencing, and users can share web pages and applications across the internet.
CuteFTP A powerful File Transfer Protocol (FTP) client that is robust, allows multiple downloads and will resume a download if you lose your connection midway through receiving a file (as will Communicator).
