The Unit

Description The only Level 1 Trauma and Burns center in New Mexico, the trauma

service admits 1500-1800 acute trauma cases each year as well as

approximately 250 burn patients. The service is staffed by 3 attending

trama surgeons, a certified nutrition support dietician, two database

specialists as well as a number of residents and medical students.

Lifeguard Air Ambulance is based at the hospital for tertiary referrals.

opportunities clinical research and participation in on-going studies or initiation of new

projects is encouraged.
