Description
Research activities NIH sponsored research fellowship in basic sciences. The clinical

program in trauma and burns of the WSU Department of Surgery is based

at the Detroit Receiving Hospital (which is located on the School of

Medicine campus) a leading trauma institution.



Frequent contact with full-time surgical faculty specifically interested in

trauma and burns, as well as interdisciplinary trauma conferences at

Detroit Receiving Hospital and departmental conferences provide

continued contact with clinical aspects of trauma and burns even though

the fellowship provides no direct patient contact.

responsibilities
Research This program provides the opportunity to spend two years in productive,
opportunities state-of-the-art basic science research laboratories. The training will

permit the fellow to apply new concepts and techniques to the study of

more basic aspects of pathophysiologic problems encountered in trauma

and burns. The National Institute of Health support the Research

Fellowship Program in Trauma and Burns.
