This allows a reasonable clinical workload and on-call schedule. The trauma fellows do approximately five months on the trauma service where there is a one in three call schedule. The trauma fellows are expected to take on prospective research projects and adequate time is provided for them to accomplish this goal. There are over 20 active prospective research protocols and weekly meetings to foster research opportunities for the fellows.
