| Fellowship
Program |
| Clinical
Responsibilities |
A
two year program with emphasis on both clinical and research
opportunities. In the clinical area, the trauma fellow acts
as a junior attending and works as an integrated part of a
team. There are approximately 4-6 nights of call a month.
Long segments are designed where there is no attending responsibility,
particularly at the beginning of the fellowship to enable
the development of an investigative program in the laboratory.
Supervision is available from a senior attending surgeon for
both the fellow and residents at all times. |
| Research
Opportunities |
The
laboratory program is designed such that each fellow will
have a laboratory mentor who has an active on-going research
effort in whih the fellow can begin his own research program
and then work independently with both faculty and staff support.
A budget is available for specific project costs for the trauma
fellow doing bench research. |
