Long segments are designed where there is no attending responsibility, particularly at the beginning of the fellowship to enable the development of an investigative program in the laboratory. Supervision is available from a senior attending surgeon for both the fellow and residents at all times.
Research Opportunities The laboratory program is designed such that each fellow will have a laboratory mentor who has an active on-going research effort in whih the fellow can begin his own research program and then work independently with both faculty and staff support.
