Description Academic medical center with multiple subspecialty surgical ICUs including: general surgery, trauma, neurosurgery, cardiothoracic, transplantation.
   
Research activities
Multiple ongoing clinical trials related to sepsis, ARDS, hemorrhagic shock, outcomes research
 
Fellowship Program
Clinical responsibilities Mixture of primary patient care and supervision of housestaff. In house call on average every fourth night.
   
Research opportunities Involvement in ongoing clinical trials, potential laboratory research with additional training. An NIH-sponsored National Research Service Award may involved up to 4 trainees per year.
   
Teaching resposibilities
Teach medical students, surgical and anesthesia housestaff
 
Certifications  
Salary $39,000-41,000 depending upon post-graduate year
Applicant requirements Completion of at least 3 clinical years in an accredited graduate educational program in the disciplines of general surgery, neurosurgery, urology, or obstetrics and gynecology
