Penetrating injury: Large Caliber - High Velocity- chest0051

Male, 27 years of age with a self inflicted rifle shot in the left hemithorax. Projectile exited posteriorly.
He was admitted in shock with a great left chest wall haematoma, and fracture of four ribs.

He sustained an inferior left lobe laceration with cavitation and lung haematoma.
The lesion was simply oversewn.
The patient recovered completely and was discharged after 10 days.
