As part of your BTS membership,
you are now able to access Injury Online in ScienceDirect.
1. Make sure that you are a full BTS Member
The online access to Injury is restricted to
full BTS Members. You can become a Full
Member at anytime through the BTS website www.trauma.org/bts/.
2. Have your Access Code available
To activate access to Injury Online and to create
your personal account, you will need your Access Code. In case
you have lost this access code, please contact Linda Brooks at
Elsevier (l.brooks@elsevier.com).
3. Enter your Access Code
in ScienceDirect
a) Go to https://cs.sciencedirect.com/activate/bts/members
Note that https:// MUST be entered for this URL
– http:// will not work. This is to ensure that your registration
details are secured when you enter them into the registration
form.
After entering, click on “submit”.
4. Complete your user profile
You will be asked to fill out a form and choose
a ScienceDirect password. A ScienceDirect username will also be
assigned (both username and password are case sensitive). After
registration you can directly login with your new username and
password.
Note – please do NOT use special characters,
such as ö, ä, or æ when entering your personal
details into the profile form.
5. Read Injury online!
Go to http://www.sciencedirect.com/bts
then enter your ScienceDirect username and password in the login
bar at the top of the page.

If you encounter any problems registering, please
note that older browsers may not support SSL encryption, which
is required for secure data transmission. Also cookies must be
enabled in your browser to support the registration process.
